Albin Viggen suits for the ones who want to try sailing. A good first sailboat for a small company or a solo traveler. After you gain first experience, you’ll decide if sailing life is for you, maybe find a larger sailboat, 27-32 feet.

As you have already noticed, there are the following types of sailboats in the price range of 1000-3000 euro:
up to 7.5 meters with an outboard motor;
over 7.5 meters with an old diesel engine;
more than 7.5 meters with an outboard motor instead of dismantled old diesel engine.

Out of these 3 options, I prefer to choose a sailboat up to 7.5 meters with an outboard motor, especially if the motor is new and 4-stroke. Since on a boat up to 7.5 meters it will consume about 1-1.5 liters per hour, which is relatively inexpensive.

Albin Viggen 23 has a draft of 1.1 meters, which allows you to climb into different coves without running aground, you can often go right to the shore.

The boat will be equipped with a new 4-stroke SeaFox 5 hp outboard motor in 2021, at the moment there is still an 8-month guarantee!

About the sailing equipment: the price includes a standard set of sails (and a jib furler), a new cover for a mainsail. Inside, the interior has been updated and new sofas have been made.

Allegro 27 is an excellent long-keeled cruising sailboat in the segment of 27-32 ft up to 10,000 euros. A good alternative to Albin Vega.

It is equipped with MD-7 Volvo Penta 11 hp engine with dual-circuit cooling. The engine is original, old, personally it confuses me, but if you are quite good about the engines – this could be a good option.

In addition, the price includes the following equipment: a full set of sails (mainsail and genoa), VHS radio, an autopilot, 2 anchors, kitchen, toilet and much more.

At the same time, the width is big enough for this size (2.75 meters), and the width always gives space and comfort.

If you prepare this sailboat, then you can even go around the world on it. Allegro 27 has a whaleboat stern, which means that on passing courses it is controlled much better because the incoming wave is cut by the whaleboat stern almost like a nose.

Among the disadvantages of the whaleboat stern is a smaller space in the cockpit, and if necessary, it is much more difficult to put an outboard engine instead of the inboard one, you need to make a special transom.

Friends! Today we have a project. It is a large 36-feet sailboat with a 50 h.p. inboard engine for only 4800 euro!

There’s a hull with masts and possibly with sails. The engine should either be replaced or repaired. The interior also needs to be put in order.

The price of 4800 euro seems very interesting for a 36-feet ketch but only at first glance.

The exterior of the boat has been completely refurbished but this is only the beginning. A new engine for such a boat will cost at least 10000 euro and most likely even closer to 15000 euro!

The rest of the modifications, repairs and renovations will require at least another 20000 euro.

Also, you will spend time, effort and hassle so it might freak you out. Something may not work out the way you want, etc.

Using this boat as an example, I wanted to show how a boat for 4800 euro turns into a boat for at least 35000-40000 euro.

After you do this, you can sell the boat for a maximum of 25-30 thousands euro only in the Mediterranean. If you want to sell it in the Baltic Sea, it will cost 20000 euro.

Usually such projects end as a complete disappointment and loss of a couple of years. It is better to buy a ready-made and maximally updated boat for 20000 euro than a project for 4800 euro and invest 30-35 more thousands euro in it.

Maxi 77 is a family boat for easy cruises. A lot of updates were made on this boat in 1999, one might say, they made major repairs.

The boat also has updated sails, a jib furler, a lazy jack (2014), a spinnaker with a convenient assembling and stocking system.

Everything else looks very fresh and good. The Maxi 77 sailboats are usually equipped with outboard motors. The models with updated inboard motors are very rare especially in such good condition.

The inboard engine Volvo Penta mb2s is original. Nothing is said about it. Probably it works fine.

There’s a full set of sails: mainsail, genoa with furler. All the ropes go to the cockpit. There’s UV protection for genoa, a cover on the mainsail, a sprayhood. Everything looks very good.

Other equipment includes a Garmin GPS with maps and an echo sounder, a compass, a solar panel, a heater, a spirit stove, an additional refrigerator, a charger, a holding tank and most likely there’s something else that wasn’t specified.

I really like the appearance. There’s a bow platform covered with teak as well as stern platform, a ladder for getting out of the water and new pillows. Net is stretched along the railing. Everything also looks fresh inside. Wood and plastic are in excellent condition.

In my opinion, this is a good option. There’s already everything for traveling, the engine is inboard, wiring into the cockpit, appearance is good, platforms from the bow and stern will also add much comfort.

The engine Volvo Penta MD7A is from 1976, it works properly. A new starter battery was installed.

Before Arvika Plastic Ind. closed they handed over the project of this sailboat to the Albin Marine shipyard and after a little refinement they began to produce the Albin Ballad. It happened in 1972 and this yacht was built in 1971, we can say, it is one of the last Jokers.

There’s a 4-stroke outboard Mercury motor 6 h.p. with long leg. The old inboard engine has been dismantled which is an advantage (no extra load).

The sailboat has been owned by one owner for 4 years. During this time he put a lot of things in order. You can check it on the photos.

The set includes 4 sails, a mainsail cover (looks good) and a classic staysail.

There’re 2 solar panels 30 Wt each, a Raymarine Dragonfly 5 navigator, an autopilot, a refrigerator, a gas stove and all lighting is LED.

The boat has teak covering, new pillows are sewn. There’s a fresh varnish on wood. It can be seen that a lot of effort was spent on the boat’s appearance. The seller says that the hull was damaged when he bought the boat, possibly due to the fact that it ran aground but everything was fixed and repaired.

In my opinion, this is an interesting Bavaria, boats from this period made the name Bavaria famous. Everything is done properly on it. There’s even a separate toilet, despite the fact that the boat is only 26 feet. The mooring fee for such a boat will be very low, so you can travel on it without worrying about the prices in the marinas.
