A good and quite seaworthy boat. There are only a few owners in the entire history of ownership.

The boat is clean and tidy. The cushions were reupholstered. The internal wood is in good condition.

Two important components have been replaced: new seacocks and a relatively new standing rigging. These are very important and expensive updates.

New hatch in the forward cabin.

Along the starboard side, there is a galley with an alcohol stove and a sink with two taps (fresh and seawater). The new Porta Potti toilet.

Sails: mainsail with a cover and genoa without a furling. There are also several genoas for different winds and a storm staysail with a spinnaker. The sheets and halyards are brought into the cockpit.

The boat has a Yanmar YSB8 diesel engine. There is no information about any problems with the engine in the ad. This engine is quite reliable, but you have to understand that the engine is not new.

In my opinion, this is a very interesting offer. A fully functional and well-maintained boat.

The interior has been slightly renovated. New cushions. The galley has been updated. A new faucet is installed — looks nice. New stove with oven.

The sails look great: a mainsail with a lazy bag and genoa on a furling. All the lines are out in the cockpit.

There is a spray hood. The boom traveler is made so that you can install a bimini. In general, it’s clear that the boat is in the hands of an experienced sailor.

The low price is due to the fact that the engine is not running. It’s actually not that scary. You can find an inexpensive refurbished engine or buy a new one (approx cost 7-10K). To be honest, I even see advantages in this.

Let’s do the math. The market price for such a Maxi 95 starts from 13-15K. It will be a more «tired» boat with an old engine. Most likely without equipment. People buy such a boat and, most likely, will sail on it and constantly fix the engine, which will often break down.

Here you can also buy a good boat with autopilot and put a brand-new engine on it, and it will cost less than 10K.

A legendary and reliable Swedish-made boat. More than 50 years ago, about 600 hulls were produced, and most of them still sail the seas.

The modified long keel is my favorite type of keel. The boat has more maneuverability (compared to a common long keel), but at the same time it’s the same reliable and durable system without keel bolts.

The owner says that even at 17 m/s the boat is steady on course and feels confident.

The interior is well preserved, but the upholstery needs to be replaced in one place — this is not big a problem.
