Allegro 27 is an excellent long-keeled cruising sailboat in the segment of 27-32 ft up to 10,000 euros. A good alternative to Albin Vega.

It is equipped with MD-7 Volvo Penta 11 hp engine with dual-circuit cooling. The engine is original, old, personally it confuses me, but if you are quite good about the engines – this could be a good option.

In addition, the price includes the following equipment: a full set of sails (mainsail and genoa), VHS radio, an autopilot, 2 anchors, kitchen, toilet and much more.

At the same time, the width is big enough for this size (2.75 meters), and the width always gives space and comfort.

If you prepare this sailboat, then you can even go around the world on it. Allegro 27 has a whaleboat stern, which means that on passing courses it is controlled much better because the incoming wave is cut by the whaleboat stern almost like a nose.

Among the disadvantages of the whaleboat stern is a smaller space in the cockpit, and if necessary, it is much more difficult to put an outboard engine instead of the inboard one, you need to make a special transom.

The price includes onland mooring. The Yanmar 6hk engine (it’s original) runs like clockwork (so it says in the ad, in fact you need to check itin life). There’s a full set of sails, they are in good condition.

The Amigo 27 has proven itself well even in round-the-world travels. Small, but very strong and reliable mini-cruisers. The boat has 4 berths, a refrigerator, an alcohol stove, a toilet and a water tank with a volume of about 100 liters.

There are two most important and valuable moments about this sailboat. It has an updated motor, it is in good condition on the whole and it has a convenient location, it is already in the Mediterranean!

The price is good enough even for Scandinavia, but in this case it is already in Greece, I think that its market price in the Mediterranean Sea is about 20,000 euro!

An electric Lewmar winch, solar panels, an updated wiring system, 3 batteries, the interior was reconstructed and updated in 2013.

There’s a bow platform, a jib with the furler, a full set of sails (they just can’t be seen in the photos).

The plastic, wood and overall interior look pretty good. The height in the cabin is about 1.6 meters, but as you might already know, on a small boat you either sit or lie down, or go to the place where you will lie or sit.

The sails are in good condition. The genoa is on a furler and has UV protection. The mainsail has a fresh cover. There is a solar panel, a 30 liter fuel tank, a toilet, a fresh spray hood, an anchor, fenders, rescue equipment, kitchen equipment, a swim ladder, mooring equipment, etc.

Nauticat is widely known as a sailboat which was designed for round-the-world trips. It is rather capacious, reliable, well-designed for long passages.

In this case the sailboat is properly updated, there’s a fresh motor (2015), the haulage is only 352 motor hours!

Raymarine echo sounder (2018), Raymarine navigator (2020), an anemometer (wind measuring instrument, 2020), Raymarine AIS (2020), Lowranse VHF (2015), a diesel heater (2018), boiler which works from motor cooling system (2016), a new water tank (2015), all the tools were replaced (2017), a starter battery (2015), two 100 Ah service batteries (2020), etc.

I can’t describe all the updates but there’re lots of them. There’s also hot and cold water, a fridge, a gas stove, a septic tank, big diesel reserve (2х280 liters), new navigation lights, manual anchor winch was repaired in 2021, there’s a new toilet, new running rigging and so on.

I think that you’ve already understood that the sailboat was invested a lot (I mean both money and effort), Nauticat is a very marketable sailboat, you won’t have any difficulty to sell it in any point of the world.

By the way, teak and hull were updated in 2017.It’s a ketch, all the sails are rather small so you can make different wind balance.

The boat is very spacious inside, there’s a separate cabin with a separate sanitary room!

The boat is completely ready to sail. There’s a full set of sails, a genoa furler (this is a big advantage). Fresh mainsail cover and fresh spray hood.

The boat looks good enough both outside and inside. I didn’t notice any serious problems. Reinforcement of the mast beam was made (this is also very good, since it’s the weak point of all Albin Vega sailboats).

The Albin Q22 engine is a gasoline engine. You have to be very careful about fire safety. Personally, I don’t like the idea of an inboard gasoline engine.

The boat costs only 2100 euro. It has a properly working inboard engine, some updates have been made. The boat was maintained, but no capital expenditures were made.

I think this is a good first boat, and if you wish, you can make a real mini cruiser out of it, for example, for traveling around Europe.

The engine is original. It is a potential problem for me personally. You never know when it will break. If it does not bother you, then 2750 euro for a conditionally offshore boat is very, very cheap.

Usually for that kind of money, Albin Vega is sold with a broken stationary engine and an installed outboard one.

This Albin Vega is slightly modified. The anchor was mounted on the bow. There is a jib furler. Plastic and wood are in good condition (even more so for 2750 euro!)

There are various equipment, accessories, ropes, dishes, etc. Everything is given with a boat. There is also a GPS navigator and a heater.

The boat looks fresh, clean and pleasant. If you know how to deal with engines and the old engine doesn’t bother you, then this boat would be a great choice.

There’s a hull with masts and possibly with sails. The engine should either be replaced or repaired. The interior also needs to be put in order.

The price of 4800 euro seems very interesting for a 36-feet ketch but only at first glance.

The exterior of the boat has been completely refurbished but this is only the beginning. A new engine for such a boat will cost at least 10000 euro and most likely even closer to 15000 euro!

The rest of the modifications, repairs and renovations will require at least another 20000 euro.

Also, you will spend time, effort and hassle so it might freak you out. Something may not work out the way you want, etc.

Using this boat as an example, I wanted to show how a boat for 4800 euro turns into a boat for at least 35000-40000 euro.

After you do this, you can sell the boat for a maximum of 25-30 thousands euro only in the Mediterranean. If you want to sell it in the Baltic Sea, it will cost 20000 euro.

Usually such projects end as a complete disappointment and loss of a couple of years. It is better to buy a ready-made and maximally updated boat for 20000 euro than a project for 4800 euro and invest 30-35 more thousands euro in it.

The boat looks very good but there is still work to be done. The engine is fresh but it seems to me that for a boat of this size it is worth having a more powerful engine. Despite the fact that the original boat has the same power engine.

There is no jib furler but don’t forget that this is a boat for 2500 euro with an updated engine. If everything was here, then this offer would be too suspicious.

New compass, new toilet, new alcohol stove, VHF radio, new echo sounder (needs to be installed).

A full set of sails. There’s a spinnaker with a spinnaker boom. Anchor with a chain of 15 meters and a rope of 40 meters.

In my opinion, it is an excellent budget option. Maybe on this boat you need to finish something yourself but it’s not difficult.

This is a very famous boat. IF means International Folkboat. I saw such a boat even in Fukuoka in Japan!

It’s well suited for class races. There’re a lot of competitions and the boat sails pretty fast for its size.

Long keel and outboard rudder blade give maximum reliability. Fresh mainsail, fresh staysail and genoa are in good condition. There’s a spinnaker with a spinnaker boom.

All the ropes go to the cockpit, it is convenient for sailing alone.

Everything is working, the boat is ready to go out to sea. There is various equipment (anchors, ropes, kitchen equipment, refrigerator, etc.)

On this boat, you can both travel and race. It suits well as the first boat, and then it can be sold for 2000-3000 euro without any problems.
