You often ask me to show good catamarans. But, to be honest, finding a well-maintained and truly interesting catamaran for a reasonable price is always a challenge. Usually it’s either a “project” with an endless list of repairs, or a modern boat with a very serious price tag.

This Snowgoose 37 Elite is one of those rare cases where a catamaran looks tidy, well-kept, and doesn’t go beyond a sensible budget – especially for its region.

It has a spacious deck, excellent stability, and a shallow draft that allows you to enter small bays. Inside, there’s plenty of room for long passages or living aboard.

If you’ve been thinking about a catamaran but didn’t want to dive into big refit projects or overpay for newer models – this is exactly the kind of option worth looking at.

Scanmar 35 is a Swedish-built motorsailer with many upgrades in recent years. The center cockpit layout increases safety and comfort, especially for families or solo sailors. Handling is predictable and docking is straightforward.

The rig and lifelines were upgraded by Westcoast Rig & Sail. New Raymarine instruments were installed in 2024. Nearly unused sails from 2023 are stored indoors each winter.

The interior features two separate cabins and a spacious saloon with real wood joinery. The saloon and aft cabin have heaters for cooler days. The galley is practical and the boat has a cozy, well-kept feel.

A Volvo Penta MD2040 engine from 2003 was installed in 2016. Service and maintenance have been regular, with the engine now at about 430 hours. New batteries and a 25A shore charger improve reliability for longer trips.

Sprayhood and forward hatch canvas are new for 2025. All hull fittings except the holding tank have been replaced with composite. A 15 kg stainless anchor was installed forward.

Energy autonomy is a strong feature. The boat is equipped with 1,380 W solar panels, hydrogenerator, 30 l watermaker, and a 500 W bifacial panel added in 2024. All Victron charge controllers have Bluetooth.

Handling is predictable and safe. The Yanmar engine is reliable, with only 1,450 hours.
