You have been asking me for a long time to show you catamarans, but it was very difficult to find a decent and inexpensive one.
I won’t talk much about the advantages and disadvantages of twinhulls in general, but let’s talk about this particular boat.
Iroquois 30 is a pretty high–quality boats. In total, about 200 hulls were produced, and, according to some sources, 160-180 of them are still being exploited.
The boat is very seaworthy. You can go up to 15 knots, which is about 3 times more than mono-hull cruisers of a similar size.
Keel (not to be confused with false keel) was reinforced. The hull was repainted in 2017. A new mast from the Maxi 900, a new boom. The portholes have been updated.
There is a galley with a new Dometic stove and oven on a gimbal. The cushions look good. I would update the interior a little and add coziness to the cabin, but this is a matter of taste. There is also a heater in the cabin.
Sails: a mainsail with a cover, a staysail on a furling and an old, but working gennaker. The sheets and halyards are brought into the cockpit.
A Yamaha 9.9 hp outboard engine is installed on the boat. The engine was serviced annually, works well and can keep the speed of up to 6 knots even against the wind. There is a fuel tank for 60 liters.
Also, the boat has an autopilot, a VHF, an awning in the cockpit, an anchor with a chain, two bathing platforms, fenders, mooring lines and much more.
