This Risor is a 1943 boat with rich history. Despite its advanced age, the boat looks clean and well-mintained and combines modern comfort solutions and classic charm.
Initially it was a fishing vessel, but in 1973 it was bought by a wood merchant who converted it into a sailing ketch. The merchant had access to good wood and replaced most of the wooden elements with mahogany and teak.
Then the boat fell into the hands of a businessman from Singapore in 1991, after a powerful hurricane, it was destroyed.
Since 1999, the stage of a long and meticulous restoration has begun. All damaged elements have been repaired and reinforced. The boat received new modern furniture. The deck and deckhouse are made of massive teak. In 2007, the current owners installed a brand new 50hp Nanni engine.
Despite the classic look, there is a lot of modern equipment on the boat: Simrad Chartplotter (2019), Furuno radar, Furuno sonar, Simrad autopilot, Raytheon DSC VHF with GPS reception and an emergency button that sends your location, Taylor diesel/kerosene heater, water tanks, electric toilet and much more.
