This Swede 55 was described as “sails past everything” when launched. The design by Knud Reimers is known for speed and balance. Handling is responsive, with all halyards led to the cockpit for safety and control.
The boat is fitted with a self-tacking jib and roller furling. Sail changes are quick, and the deck layout is practical for short-handed sailing. The deck was refitted with Treadmaster non-slip by a professional yard.
A Vetus diesel engine with 42 hp and 1,860 hours gives reliable motoring. The engine compartment is accessible for service. Shore power and strong batteries support longer stays onboard.
The interior is warm, with classic woodwork and space for seven. There is a waterborne heating system for colder days. The galley is equipped for extended cruising, with a stove and ample storage.
Navigation is supported by a Lowrance 10” plotter with updated charts for the Baltic and West Coast. There are wind instruments, VHF, and a new autopilot. Safety gear includes a life raft.
