Steel yachts are chosen for reliability and strength. This hull can handle rough seas and even ocean crossings. If needed, repairs are possible in any port, making it a practical option for long journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, steel is heavy and needs regular protection from rust. It insulates less well than fiberglass. Owners must be ready for ongoing care and attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Blauwvoet features a classic mahogany interior. Upgrades include new teak in the side decks (2015) and a renovated coachroof. All electrical systems were replaced in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bukh DV20 engine was overhauled in 2018. The propeller shaft, stern tube, and external bearing were replaced in 2020. The boat has a Victron inverter and automatic charger for modern power management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sail handling is practical with four winches and a high aspect jib. The standing rigging is partly upgraded to Dyneema. There is an all-round winter tent and a removable swim ladder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steel yachts are not for those seeking simplicity. They suit sailors who value a tough, honest boat and are ready for long-term care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
